Details of all services from Christmas week to New Year here. Saturday 6th December Servers' Training Session 10.00-10.45am. All servers (new & old) please attend this session (and perhaps come to Mass at 9.30am?) St James’ Youth Group is holding a disco and karaoke evening with prizes 7.00-10.00pm (open to years 7-10). Tickets £5 to include buffet. NB No Youth Group on Saturday afternoon. Sunday 7th December Christmas choir practice in church at 3.30pm. Penitential service (with individual confessions), 4.00pm at St Joseph's, St Mary Cray. Mondays 1st and 8th December KNOWING GOD BETTER If you would like to get more out of your faith then come along on Mondays at 1.30pm or 8.00pm. This very interesting and informative course started on 3rd November but each session is fairly self-contained. The
6 relaxed sessions of video presentation and discussion of the Faith take place in the Social Centre. All are warmly welcome to the last session. There will be no 1.30pm session on 8th December. Everyone is welcome to attend the 8.00pm session which will be held in the church followed by a gathering in the Presbytery. The final session is entitled Knowing God's Spirit and Hope . Monday 8th December St James' School Advent service at 6.00pm Tuesday 9th December Deanery Mass for the souls of deceased clergy at 11.00am (there will be no 9.30am Mass today), followed by meeting and Christmas Lunch in the Social Centre . Guides Christmas Lunch – Sunday 14th December 2-4pm The Guides and Leaders would like to invite all parishioners over 60 to the 14th Christmas Lunch organised by the group, followed by entertainment from the Brownies. Please add your name to one of the lists in the porch. We're looking forward to it! 3rd Petts Wood West Guides and Leaders. Christmas Choir practice at 3.30pm. Wednesday 17th December Carol Singing at Petts Wood Station from 6.15-6.45pm followed by refreshments in the Methodist Church hall. Let’s have a really good turn out! Friday 19th December Crofton Youth Singers Christmas Concert at 8.00pm at the Crofton Baptist Church. Free of charge with a retiring collection for children’s charity. Decorating the church for Christmas – help needed from 7.30pm onwards. Strong men please (and women)!! Thank you. Sunday 21st December Christingles will be made in the Social Centre after the 10.00am Mass, for use in the Vigil Mass on 24th December. Children's Choir practice for Vigil Mass in the choir gallery at 12.30pm. Christmas Choir practice at 5.30pm. Thrice Welcome Christmas at 6.30pm in the church followed by mince pies and mulled wine in the Social Centre. This year, in addition to the poems, we will have the Christmas Choir with carols.
