Monday 1st June Journey in Faith at 8.00pm at 281A Crescent Drive. CWL meeting in Social Centre at 8.00pm. Tuesday 2nd June Readers evening starting at 8.00pm in the church. This is an important training evening for all our readers (new and established). Would readers please let Fr Bryan know if they are unable to be present. Meeting in the Social Centre at 8.00pm for leaders and parents of young people going to Cudham on 13/14th June. Wednesday 3rd June Baptismal Preparation Evening in the Presbytery at 8.00pm, for those parents who have been informed. Saturday 6th June We welcome through Holy Baptism at 4.00pm, Madeleine and Isabelle Gordon (1 year and 2 years), their parents Andrew & Sigrun and godparents Catriona, Eugene, Stephanie & Tony. Weekend 5-7th June Grief in Loss; Hope in Christ is a weekend workshop at Aylesford Priory to help those grieving loved ones. Contact 01622 717272 (full board £130-£136.50) or follow the link for details. Weekend 6-7th June Marriage Enrichment course at Bishop Hine’s house in West Malling. This non-residential and relevant to any married couple. See rcdow.org.uk. Sunday 7th June Petts Wood Residents' Association annual service in the Memorial Hall, starting at 4.00pm. The speaker will be Lord Harris, the founder of Harris Hospiscare and the Mayor of Bromley, Councillor Douglas Auld, will be present. Tuesday 9th June Justice & Peace Group meeting in the Social Centre at 8.00pm. Every member of the parish is invited to these meetings. Saturday 13th June 27 children of the parish make their First Holy Communion at a Mass which starts at 10.30am. Please pray for them and their parents, that they will be absolutely faithful to Jesus in the Eucharist each Sunday of their lives. Youth Group weekend activities at Cudham, staying overnight and until Sunday afternoon. Weekend 13/14th June There will be a Second collection for the Catholic Trust for England & Wales. Sunday 14th June We welcome, through Holy Baptism during the 11.30am Mass, Rebecca Anna Wells (6 months), her parents Dominique and Tim, and godparents Trudy and Dominic; and also Rory Francis Thomas (6 months) (from Tooting), his parents Catherine and Matt and godparents Jennifer and Neil. Tuesday 16th June Evening for Eucharistic Ministers starting at 8.00pm. Saturday 20th June We welcome through Holy Baptism at 4.30pm, Louise Sara Henderson (2 months), her parents Kirsty & Jason, and godparents Colette & Martine. The CWL is holding a Beetle Drive in the Social Centre at 7.00pm for 7.30pm. Tickets will be on sale shortly (adults £5, children £1.50 including a sausage and mash supper). Sunday 21st June We welcome through Holy Baptism at 3.00pm, Fletcher Jeremy Hegarty, his parents Victoria & Andrew and godparent Kevin, and witnesses Michele, Emma & Paul. Wednesday 24th June Key stage 1 Mass at St James’ School (8.50am) Saturday 27th June Diocesan celebration at Aylesford. Archbishop Kevin is encouraging all parishes to join him for this celebration in the Year of St Paul, 2009. The coach has been cancelled due to lack of demand but you are encouraged to attend and perhaps do some car sharing. St James' School PTA will hold its Summer Fair. Weekend Masses 27/28th June Second collection for St John’s seminary, Wonersh. Sunday 28th June Marriage MoT from 2.30-5.30pm at Forest Hill. Email Lisette or phone her on 020 8325 1486. Monday 29th June Parish Surgery 7.00-7.45pm. People are coming to talk about a whole range of things. I am happy to be available to you for any reason at all. What was on in June 2009
Parish Library. Simon Howell will be developing a library during June for the use of the parish. It will be housed in the small room adjacent to the choir gallery and will be an invaluable resource for us all. Simon will be grateful for any religious/spiritual books which can be placed in the box in the library. If you wish you can email Simon for further information.
