The Mission and Planning Team

The Mission and Planning Team (MaP) and the Pastoral and Advisory Team (PAT) were set up by Fr Bryan as part of his vision for collaborative ministry, in other words, involving the Parish in the running of St James'. MaP members were chosen to be representative of the Parish and thus provide a framework for two way communication. Within this framework, Fr Bryan hopes to share his vision for the Parish, and for the Parish to feed their thoughts back to him. The team is mainly advisory and steering in nature rather than a group that expects always to be actively involved in carry out the initiatives suggested. Both MaP and PAT work strategically and look at forward planning. Neither team in any sense debars other parishioners from having their say directly, either at our open Parish Forum, which meets two or three times a year, or by direct contact with Fr Bryan. Indeed the teams represent additional channels of communication, parishioners being encouraged to raise issues with members of both MaP and PAT, who then raise such topics for discussion at their next meeting.
