Friday 3rd July
St James’  PTA Strawberry Tea/Coffee Morning (8.30-9.45am) in the School Hall in support of Breast Cancer care.
 
Saturday 4th July
Decoration of library room from 9.00am-12noon.  Volunteers needed for this job which shouldn't be too arduous.  Please the sign list in the porch if you can help.

We welcome through Holy Baptism at 3.45pm, Edward Ronald Argent Blighton (4 months), his parents Rebecca and John,  godparent Gerard and witnesses Susan & Elaine.
 
And at 4.30pm, Matthew Jan Charles Bajorek (6 months), his parents Davina and Piotr and godparents Andrew and Cara, and witness Alexandra.
 
Tuesday 7th July
KS1 St James' School children visiting the church 10.00am.
 
Wednesday 8th July
Year 3 Mass in St James' School at 8.50am.
Baptism Preparation Evening (for those parents who have been informed) at 8.00pm (281A Crescent Drive).
 
Thursday 9th July
Mission & Planning Team Meeting (MaP) 8.30pm in Servers' Room.  See their photos here.
 
Saturday 11th July
Decorating church rooms 9.00am – 12noon.
 
Sunday 12th July
At the 11.30am Mass we shall present an inscribed list of the departed who are remembered in our rose garden of remembrance with prayers for them.
 
Also please buy some raffle tickets for CAFOD, First Prize is £4,000.  On sale after all Masses this weekend.
 
Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th July
A Midsummer Night's Dream at St James' School to be performed by Years 5 and 6.  Performances start at 7.00pm, entrance £3.
 
Tuesday 14th July
Justice & Peace Group meeting at 8.00pm in the Social Centre.  All parishioners are welcome to join the group.
 
Wednesday 15th July
Penitential service at 7.30pm with at least five priests to hear individual confessions.
 
Thursday 16th July
Planning Meeting for Go Mad! (the holiday club) in the Presbytery at 8.00pm.  Please let Suzanne Horner know if you can help.
 
Saturday 18th July
At 1.00pm, we welcome through Holy Baptism, Willow Grace Barnard (10 months), her parents Francesca & Luke and godparents Helen & Benjamin.
 
Sunday 19th July
Parish bring and share picnic in our parish garden from 12.30pm.  Bring, share & mingle!  A great way to get to know other parishioners.
 
Wednesday 22nd July
Mass with St James’ School at 9.30am.  This will be the Leavers' Mass for Year 6 and end of term for the School.  We wish every success and happiness to all Year 6 children as they prepare for secondary school.
 
Teddy Bear's Picnic in our parish garden from 3.30pm.
 
Thursday 23rd July
Baptismal preparation evening, for those parents who have been informed, at 8.00pm in 281A.
 
Saturday 25th July
We welcome through Holy Baptism at 4.30pm, Luke John Kimpton-Clark (6 months), his parents Mario & Catherine and godparents Hilary & Thomas.
 
Taizé style service at 7.15pm which is being presented by the young people going to Taizé in August.  All most welcome to this reflective and meditative type of worship with the haunting Taizé music.
 
Sunday 26th July      
Mass with anointing of the sick at 3.00pm with our Folk Choir. This is for anyone who would like to receive the Sacrament of Anointing – many of our home communicants will be coming and also families with children.  You are warmly invited to this Mass (which will fulfil your Sunday obligation) and to receive the Sacrament of the Sick (anointing).  All of us need the inner healing which only Christ can give.  There will be tea and cakes following the Mass.
 
Monday 27th July
CWL Meeting at 8.00pm with a talk by Helen Cooley on ‘Our Lady’s Catechists’.  Children’s Liturgy leaders are especially welcome.
