New Eucharistic Ministers

(full title "Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion")

At Aylesford Priory, on Saturday 26th May 2007, seventeen parishioners of St James' were commissioned by Vicar General, Monsignor Richard Moth. Over 100 members of the Diocese attended a day of talks, and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, culminating in a Mass during which the commissioning took place.

Christmas 2007

What a wonderful Christmas at St James'! The church as always looked marvellous (click here for images) and the services were prayerful, celebratory and well attended. 885 people worshipped at the four Masses, and we had 100 people at each of the Now Thrice Welcome Christmas and Christingle services. These last two were firsts for St James', and will surely become a popular and established part of our Christmas celebrations.

On the eve of Christmas Eve, a congregation of over a hundred was entertained by talented readers, musicians and singers. They also worshipped, by singing carols and listening to the Word of God. Poetry chosen from Milton, Eliot, Betjamin, and others, was interspersed with music from piano, cello and violin. All those attending greatly enjoyed the service, which was followed by mulled wine and mince pies in the Social Centre.
