Mondays 7th, 14th, 21st June

Evangelium course continues in the Social Centre, 8.15pm for 8.30-9.45pm.

Session on 28th June will be vigil Mass at 8.00pm for SS Peter & Paul.

Saturday 5th June

The wedding of Helen Turner and Andrew Cliffe at 2.30pm. Our best wishes to Helen and Andrew for their special day and many happy years together.

Baptism of Caitlyn Jessica Synnott at 4.30pm.

Remember that all services at St James', including weddings and baptisms, are for all parishioners to enjoy!

Sunday 6th June

Petts Wood Residents Association service in the Memorial Hall at 4.00pm with the Christ Church orchestra. The speaker will be Rosemary Norris from Demelza House.

Monday 7th June

Craft and Skills Afternoon. If you have you a craft and skill you can share, would like to learn a craft or skill, or just come in for a chat and a cup of tea. There will be a craft and skills afternoon starting on Monday 7th June for ladies and gents at 1.25-3.15pm. Please do come along and join us. Contact Sheila Simon for more information.

Justice and Peace Group meets in the Social Centre at 8.00pm

Thursday 10th June

The new Archbishop of Southwark, Most Revd Peter Smith, will be installed in Southwark Cathedral. Read about his appointment here.

Saturday 12th June

First Holy Communion Mass at 10.30am. Please pray for the 31 children making their First Holy Communion.

There will be a Mass in celebration of the sacrament of marriage in St George's Cathedral for those celebrating their 10th, 25th, 40th, 50th, or 60th+ wedding anniversary. You are most welcome to renew your vows at this special Mass in our cathedral. There will be a list in the porch for you to sign.

Second collection for Catholic Trust for England and Wales.

Tuesday 15th June

Finance Committee at 10.15am in the Presbytery.

Wednesday 16th June

Meeting in the Social Centre for those who would like to get involved and help with the Autumn Festival on 2nd October. Contact Sue David for further information.

Property Committee at 7.00pm in the Meeting Room.

Weekend 19/20th June

John Murphy of "You Touch Africa" will be speaking at all Masses about the charity set up by Fr Arbo Lekule. The Justice and Peace Group has invited John because this charity will be a major focus for its activities over the next year.

Saturday 19th June

We welcome, through Holy Baptism at 4.30pm, James Finlay Rothon, his parents Mark and Helen and godparents Kathryn and Simon.

Newcomers to the Parish evening. The 6.00pm Mass will be offered for the intention of those who have joined the parish in the last 12-18 months. This will be followed by a get together in the Social Centre. About 50 families have been invited this year - apologies if you have been missed and please feel welcome to attend if this is the case. This event was a great success when held last year. See the pictures.

Sunday 20th June

Taizé Service at 7.00pm which is a wonderful way to end a June evening, meditation, music and silence.

Tuesday 22nd June

A special joint PAT and MaP meeting in the Social Centre. All members of both teams are requested to attend.

Wednesday 23rd June

There will be a Welcomers' meeting in the Social Centre at 8.00pm. This is a crucial ministry and we could do with a few more people for each Mass. Please attend if you think you would like to help.

Saturday 26th June

St James’ School Fair from 12noon to 3.00pm.

Sunday 27th June

Second collection for Peter's Pence.

Monday 28th June

CWL meeting in the Social Centre at 8.00pm with a talk on Rudyard Kipling. All welcome.

Tuesday 29th June

Solemnity of SS Peter and Paul – Masses at 8.00pm on the 28th (Vigil) and 9.30am on 29th June. This is a Holy Day of Obligation and all Catholics should be at Mass.

Wednesday 30th June

9.30am Mass in church with St James' School, led by Years 4 and 5.
