Sundays 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th March Choir for Holy Week and Easter practices from 3.15–4.45pm. Please note change of time and day. All singers please – there are only four weeks to practise. Mondays 1st, 8th, 15th March Confirmation class at 7.00pm in the Social Centre. Evangelium course continues in the Social Centre, 8.15pm for 8.30-9.45pm. Tuesdays 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd / Wednesdays 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th March The Ecumenical Lent course "When I Survey" continues its weekly sessions. You can either attend at

The Friends Meeting House on Wednesday (follow the links for locations). Stations of the Cross each Sunday of Lent in March Stations will take place at 5.00pm from Sunday 7th to 28th March. This is a prayerful meditation on the 14 events in Christ’s journey to the cross on Good Friday. It lasts about 30 minutes and everyone is encouraged to experience this moving devotion. Doreen Hairs. Thursday 11th March Mission and Planning team (MaP) meeting at 7.45pm in the church meeting room. Saturday 13th March Concert in St George’s church Bickley at 8.00pm. The Sine Nomine Singers will be performing Bach’s Great Mass in B Minor in aid of the Haiti Appeal. This choir is excellent and the event is not to be missed! In addition, it will be a chance to greet Fr Owen, the vicar, who moved to St George’s from Petts Wood at the end of last year. Sunday 14th March The baptism of Naina Maria Ganapathy (18 months) at 12.45pm. Taizé meeting at 7.00pm in the Social Centre for all those who have been to Taizé. Thursday 18th March Lenten Penitential Service commencing at 7.00pm with about six priests. Everyone is encouraged to attend and make their confession before Easter and the service has been timed so that families with young children can attend. Parents (especially with children in Year 4 and upwards) should encourage their children to receive God’s grace in this wonderful way – parents are their first and best of teachers! Friday 19th March Follow up meeting to the Women's World Day of Prayer in the church meeting room at 10.30am. Friday 19th to Sunday 21st March Retreat for confirmation candidates at Whitstable. This will be led by Ann Jackson, Nick Babb and Zosia Bajorek. It will be a wonderful opportunity for the young people to learn more about their faith and in paricular the significance of their confirmation which will take place on Tuesday 18th May. We are most grateful to the leaders for the effort and time they are contributing in order to help our young people enjoy this experience. Saturday 20th March Race Night starting at 7.00pm in the Social Centre, organised by the Knights of St Columba.
See full details here. Monday 22nd March Passover Supper at 7.30pm. Beverley Taylor, a member of the Jewish faith, will lead us through this celebration of the Jewish Passover Meal. We will be guided as we take part in a supper of symbolic food (not a main meal). We expect to finish at approximately 9.00pm. There will be no charge but a collection will be taken to cover expenses. All are welcome, including families, but places are limited, so please reserve your place(s) on the sign-up sheet (available in the church lobby where you will find a flyer with further details). Chris and Doreen Hairs, know Wednesday 24th March Property Committe meets at 8.00pm in the Presbytery. Saturday 27th March Church clean up for Easter from 9.00am to 12noon. Please spare an hour or two to prepare the church for Holy Week and Easter. There is a list in the porch to sign. These mornings are always great fun and there will be plenty of refreshments! ___________________________________________________________________ Past Events Tuesday 2nd March St James' School will attend 9.30am Mass in church. Thursday 4th March Pastoral and Advisory Team meet in the Presbytery at 7.45pm. Friday 5th March Women’s World Day of Prayer. There will be a service in St James' church at 2.00pm. All ladies most warmly welcome. Tuesday 9th March Justice and Peace Group meets at 8.00pm in the Social Centre. All parishioners are warmly welcomed to discuss a whole range of issues, e.g. You Touch Africa (Fr. Arbo’s charity).
