What was on in August 2010

Weekend 7/8th August

Our first special collection for You Touch Africa, the charity set up by Fr Arbo Lekule to help the disadvantaged in Tanzania and other African countries. The Justice and Peace Group has selected this as their main initiative for 2010-11. The idea is that the families of St James' should eat less, or perform some other act of self-denial, on the previous Friday and the money saved be brought to Mass this weekend. The other dates for 2010 will be 4/5th September, 6/7th November and 4/5th December. If you are in the Gift Aid scheme, you should use one of the spare white envelopes in your box.

Monday 9th August

The funeral of Robin Oakley-Smith. Requiem Mass at 2.00pm.

Sunday 15th August

Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Tuesday 24th August

Social Centre Project Specification Team meeting at 8.00pm in the Social Centre. The architect will be attending this meeting.

Tuesday 31st August

Social Centre Project Scoping Team meeting at 8.00pm in the Meeting Room.
