Our principal aim is to provide a safe place for young people to go, in order that they can participate in activities which interest them. We want to enable them to maintain and make new friendships and to make them feel like a valued part of the parish, and to encourage them to become more fully involved in the activities of the church.
Admission is £1. Registration and medical forms are required to be completed and a strict Code of Conduct is in place. (Follow the link to read and print the code.)
We meet every other Saturday afternoon during term time only. Activities include football in the church garden, table tennis and snooker in the hall, as well as computer games and chill out areas. There is a tuck shop to enable the children to purchase drinks and snacks. Regular talks by local professionals are planned, as well as outings to the theatre, bowling alley, and leisure centre. Future workshops will include cookery, beauty therapy and debating.
All children who worship at St James’ and St Swithun's and who are in Years 7, 8 and 9 at school are very welcome to the Junior section and Year 10 and 11 pupils to the Seniors.
The Seniors meet from 1.30-3.30pm (which includes lunch) and Juniors from 3.45-5.45pm, unless otherwise advised. Meetings this term are as follows:
