What was on in April 2008?
First Communion Classes For children at non-Catholic Schools (year 3 children). These classes are held from the end of the 10am Mass, until about 11.30am. The contact is Miriam Travers. Confirmation Classes No class on 5th May Young people in years 8 and 9 please note (in the Social Centre 6.45-7.45pm). Please pray for our 50 young people who are preparing thoroughly and imaginatively for their confirmation. They are a credit to their families and our parish. The Archbishop will confirm them at Mass in St James' at 7.30pm on Thursday 15th May. Baptism certificates of candidates not baptised in St James' are required by Fr Bryan – a few are still awaited. All candidates must choose a confirmation name (usually but not always a saints name). Each young person needs a sponsor to be with them at the confirmation Mass (this needs to be a practising Catholic who will encourage their confirmee in the faith). Journey in Faith No session on 5th May. Click here for further details. Past events Saturday 5th April Wedding of Ann-Marie Aleppo and Adam McDonald at 2.00pm. We ask God’s blessing on this couple for a long and happy married life. Military Whist Drive at 7.30pm in the Social Centre. Proceeds to the Guides. Tuesday 8th April Justice and Peace Group meeting at 8.00pm in the Social Centre. Tuesday 22nd April Meeting of confirmation catechists at 8.00pm (218A Crescent Drive). Wednesday 23rd April Fr Bryan will be guest preacher at St George's, Bickley (C of E) patronal festival at 8.00pm. Saturday 26th April The Away Day venue for the candidates has been changed and will now be at Bishop Challoner School, Shortlands (10.00am-4.00pm). Would parents please take a new letter from the porch please. Monday 28th April CWL meeting in the Social Centre at 8.00pm. Wednesday 30th April Servers' practice at 6.45pm, to prepare for the Confirmation Mass.
