Sunday 8th June
Petts Wood Festival Chorus (of St John Passion fame) will perform at the Petts Wood Residents' Association annual service in the Memorial Hall/Gardens.  It is a great way to meet with our friends from the other churches, and also a way of reaching out to the community.  The speaker will be Mary Mason from Bromley Alzheimer’s Society – you may remember that Petts Wood Churches Together made a donation of £2,000 to them as a result of the St John Passion performances in March.  Refreshments will be served after the service.

Monday 9th June
Parish Forum at 8.00pm in the Social Centre.  The financial statement for 2007 will be presented and there will be planning for the parish in the months ahead.  Having been here for about 18 months, Fr Bryan would like to share some of his thinking about future developments in the parish and asks that as many parishioners as possible to attend.   The financial statement is available in the porch.

Tuesday 10th June
Justice and Peace Group meet in the Social Centre 8.00pm.  Minutes of the last meeting are available to read here.  Justice and Peace is at the heart of the gospel and so as many parishioners as possible should attend.  There will be an update from Rachel and Paul in Peru (they are having quite a tough time).

Saturday 14th June
Seminar on the Church and Sport, 10.30am–12.30pm in the Social Centre.  This will be led by Rev. John Boyers who is chaplain to Manchester United.  Many of you are involved in various sports and might consider attending this event which is being supported by all the churches of Petts Wood.  Young people are especially welcome to attend.  Before that John will be at the Men’s Breakfast (8.00am in the lounge at Christ Church, Willett Way, when sport will again be at the top of the agenda).  ALL the men of St James’ are warmly invited but please sign list in the porch, or email Fr Bryan, by 8th June, for catering purposes.

There will be a Confirmation reunion at 4.30pm.  Our confirmees will be presenting the 6.00pm Mass and will celebrate with a party afterwards!  Would parents please let Fr Bryan know if their son/daughter is unable to attend.
