What was on in March 2008
Monday 31st March Catholic Women's League AGM at 8.00pm in the Social Centre. First Communion Classes For children at non-Catholic Schools (year 3 children). These classes are held from the end of the 10am Mass, until about 11.30am. The contact is Miriam Travers. Confirmation Classes Young people in years 8 and 9 please note (in the Social Centre 6.45-7.45pm). Please pray for our 50 young people who are preparing thoroughly and imaginatively for their confirmation. They are a credit to their families and our parish. The Archbishop will confirm them at Mass in St James' at 7.30pm on Thursday 15th May. Wednesday 5th March Servers practice in the church 7.00-7.50pm. Parents and servers should sign the list in the porch to inidcate availability for the main Holy Week services. Saturday 8th March We still need to do some more clearing up, following the excellent session a few weeks ago. This will not be so onerous but we would appreciate help for a couple of hours between 10.00am and 1.00pm. Could you please spare an hour (or more) to help in this work, preparing us for our Health & Safety inspection on 26th March. It would be useful to know who can come (please sign list in porch) – thank you. Sunday 9th March Rehearsal for Bach's St John Passion, 3.00-5.00pm.

St Joseph's Church in St Mary Cray at 4.00pm. Everyone is warmly welcomed to attend. These will be individually spoken, not written, confessions. Tuesday 11th March - Passover Supper Celebration Starting at 7.30 pm in the Social Centre there will be an opportunity to be taken through the ritual ceremonies of the Jewish Passover meal. Mrs Beverley Taylor, Lay Preacher and former Chairman at the South London Liberal synagogue, is coming to lead us. We will be guided as we take part in a supper of symbolic food (not a main meal). All are welcome, including families, as we discover more of the meaning of Our Lord’s Last Supper and the connections with the Eucharist. We expect to finish at 9.00 pm approximately. There will be no charge - but a collection will be taken to cover expenses. All are welcome, but places are limited, so please reserve your place on the sign-up sheet (available in the church lobby from 24th February). Flyers are available in the porch. Doreen Hairs. Thursday 13th March Servers' practice for Holy Week and Easter 7.00–7.50pm. Servers and parents should sign the list in the porch to indicate availability for 20th-23rd March. Choir practice for Holy Week and Easter at 8.00–9.15pm. All singers are requested to attend as time is short! Tuesday 18th March The choir for Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil will practice at 8.00pm. Wednesday 26th March Welcomers Meeting in the Social Centre at 8.00pm. Saturday 29th March Bingo in the Social Centre, 7.00pm for 7.30pm start. Cost £4 (including food), £1 per game. A variety of prizes available including cash. Contact
