*****Message regarding COVID-19*****

Greetings to you all

Globally, as you are aware, we are going through a storm.  This storm is now passing over our country and so over our community.  Not surprisingly we are all reacting differently.  We all cope in different ways.  I am quite aware about the sense of vulnerability that we might be feeling.  Like anyone else, I am also concerned about our community at St James’, my family, my friends and myself.  We are treading on unchartered territory here.  So I tend to prefer to err towards protection.  At this stage we are not being asked to cancel the Parish Masses.  However I do understand if people would prefer to stay away from attending Mass for some time.  If you opt to self-isolate, I would like to encourage you to make use of the live web streaming from our parish in order to keep us together.  Let us look after each other at this time.  The social media is a great way to keep us together.  It is one of the benefits of social media actually.  Looking after each other sometimes means distancing ourselves from physical encounters.  However, we are above all a community of faith.  At this time let us empower ourselves and our community by prayer, asking God to protect us as this storm passes.  Let us keep each other in prayer and if we can help each other in other ways, let us put our faith in action especially at this time.

God bless us all

Fr David
