Mass with Anointing of the Sick
A very moving and inspiring Mass took place at St James' on Sunday afternoon 26th July 2009. Many sick and normally housebound parishioners were brought to the church at 3.00pm, to hear Mass and receive the Eucharist and the sacrament of Anointing. It was a rare opportunity for other parishioners to receive this sacrament and very many did. Afterwards there was a tea party held in the Social Centre, with a bountiful spread, and much joy shared by both sick and healthy. Thanks to Fr Bryan and Fr Arbo, the Folk Choir, the ladies of the parish for the refreshments, and those who took care of the special people - the sick themselves.
