Following the highly successful performances of the past two years (Bach’s St John Passion in 2008 and Handel’s Messiah in 2009) the choir this year performed Vivaldi’s joyful and exuberant work, "Gloria" and "Zadok the Priest" by Handel together with "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" by Bach. In addition there was a short programme by the nationally acclaimed artistes Tim Wells (‘cello) and Dominique Wong-Min (piano).
The conductor was Fr Bryan Wells and other principals were:
Natalia Contreras-Munoz (Soprano)
Grace Cookey-Gam (Mezzo Soprano)
Accompanists were Clive Brearley and Trevor Brearley.
Petts Wood Festival Chorus is a choir of some 70 members drawn mainly, but not exclusively, from the churches of Petts Wood and the surrounding area. It is an open choir and new voices are always welcome. Music reading is helpful but not essential – indeed, for many members this is the first choir they have taken part in.
